One of the modern scourges is abortion. It ends a life in a cruel way and its widespread usage is an indictment on civilisation. The response should always be compassion for the woman, never criminalisation, but there has to be social reform that supports all women faced with this painful decision. An unborn baby's life is sacrament. Divine. And must be protected.

In the UK, abortion has increased dramatically in recent years, now about 300,000 per year. In the USA, around 60 million abortions have been carried out since Roe Versus Wade. That number is the equivalent of the population of the UK in its entirety.

Lives with all their beauty and potential and divine origin wiped out forever, their stories never to have been written, their talents never to be known, their contribution to history and humanity lost forever.

This is a damning criticism of how the West tolerates disposability, ridding oneself of anything that is inconvenient, that offends the right of a woman in a hedonistic society.
